Bunkering Allseas’ Pioneering Spirit

Our bunker barge, MTS Jade, delivered over 7,500 tons of marine fuel oil to the largest construction vessel in the world. Even the largest tanker barge in our fleet pales in comparison to the Pioneering Spirit.
The construction vessel is equivalent to approximately 8 million liters. To put that into perspective, this is comparable to the average annual sales volume of two gas stations in the Netherlands. Our MTS Jade measures 135 meters in length with a beam of 20 meters, and can transport 10,500 m³.
When not at sea, the Pioneering Spirit can be found in the Prinses Alexia Haven, at the Maasvlakte. The twin-hulled vessel is 382 meters long and 124 meters wide. This construction vessel is capable of lifting entire platform topsides of up to 48,000 tons and jackets up to 20,000 tons in a single piece. This dramatically reduces the amount of offshore work required for installation and decommissioning, shifting the operations onshore, where it is safer and more cost-effective.
