Extreme current for MTS Copenhagen in Liège

A timelapse of the situation

24 JANUART 2025 | #FLEET

Last week, our crew on board the MTS Copenhagen experienced an interesting voyage en route to Liège. Strong water currents caused a slight delay in our schedule, with peak flows reaching about 2000 cubic meters per second – nearly three times the rate considered a strong current (700 cubic meters per second).

After the Copenhagen was waiting in front of the city to enter, the barrier eventually was released after which the MTS Copenhagen sailed on the Maas in extreme flow rates.
